GARFIELD AVENUE AT SLAUSON AVENUE CONCRETE INTERSECTION RECONSTRUCTION
IN THE CITY OF COMMERCE
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Commerce, invites sealed bids for the above stated project and will receive such bids in the office of the City Clerk, 2535 Commerce Way, City of Commerce, California 90040, UP TO THE HOUR OF 3:30 PM on August 6, 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
SCOPE OF WORK: The work to be performed or executed under these specifications consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the contract documents to construct the above stated project. It is the intent of this contract to have the contractor perform the SLAUSON AVENUE AT GARFIELD AVENUE CONCRETE INTERSECTIONIN THE CITY OF COMMERCE, and other appurtenances in accordance with CASH CONTRACT No. 0905 (Federal-funded Project # ESPL-5362(014). All work is located in the City of Commerce.
Copies of the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents are available from the City of Commerce, 2535 Commerce Way, City of Commerce, California, at a cost of $20.00 per bid package (nonrefundable fee) if picked up, payment of a $35.00 nonrefundable fee if mailed or request a copy through the City of Commerce Website at www.ci.commerce.ca.us.
All bidders are required to comply with all applicable California competitive bidding and labor compliance laws including, but not limited to, active solicitation of subcontract bids from minority-owned businesses, women-owned businesses, and businesses owned by disabled veteran’s. Compliance with California prevailing wage rates and apprenticeships employment standards established by the State Director of Industrial Relations is required. This project is to comply with Caltrans’s Underutilized Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (UDBE) requirements for award of contract. The CITY OF COMMERCE has established the following UDBE component goals as follows:
Race Conscious Component is 3.49%
Race Neutral Component is 10.01%
Total AADPL is 13.50%.
Bids must be prepared on the approved Proposal forms in conformance with the Instructions to Bidders and submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked on the outside. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to the City of Commerce for an amount no less than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount. The estimate for this project is $588,411.
No contract will be awarded to a bidder who is not licensed in accordance with the law under the provisions of Division III, Chapter 9, Class "A” or ”C-12” of the California Business and Profession Code at the time of the award. Prior to commencing work, the Contractor’s and all subcontractors shall obtain business licenses from the City of Commerce.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity, and to take all bids under advisement for a period of thirty (30) days. For questions regarding this project, please contact in writing:
