Measure AA
Overview

On August 6, 2012, the Council approved and adopted Resolution No. 12-84, declaring a state of fiscal emergency for the placement of a general tax measure before the voters of Commerce. The Council further approved the wording of the proposed Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance of the People of the City of Commerce, State of California, enacting a One-half of One Percent (1/2%) Transactions and Use (Sales) Tax to Fund General Municipal Services".

Also on August 6, 2012, the Council approved and adopted Resolution No. 12-85, calling for and giving notice of the holding of a Special Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, for the submission to the qualified voters the proposed Ordinance and Resolution No. 12-86, requesting the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to consolidate the Special Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election to be held on the same date, pursuant to §1 0403 of the California Elections Code.
