Clean Air Programs - AQMD
Lawnmower Exchange Program for Residents
The Southern California Air Quality Management District (AQMD) offers discounted prices on electric lawnmowers at their annual "Mow Down Air Pollution" Lawnmower Exchange Program.  This Program allows residents living within the AQMD's four-county jurisdiction to turn in their working gas-powered lawn mower and purchase a new cordless rechargeable electric mower at a greatly reduced price.

Events are held at multiple locations in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.  To participate, residents must pre-register for one of the events. To register, visit:

www.aqmd.gov (search for "Lawnmower Exchange Program") or call (800) 425-6247.

Leaf Blower Exchange Program for Professional Gardeners and Landscapers
Older leaf blowers are exchanged for low-polluting and lower noise models.  The Program is open to professional gardeners and landscapers who live and work in AQMD's four-count jurisdiction. This includes most of Los Angeles County (excludes Antelope Valley), all of Orange County, most of Riverside County, and non-desert San Bernardino County.

Visit www.aqmd.gov for registration announcements or to be notified by email of their next exchange.

Healthy Hearths Initiative for Residents
Residents can receive a $125 discount when replacing a wood-burning fireplace with a cleaner-burning gas log set.

Visit www.healthyhearths.org and click on "Gas Log Incentives" to find a participating dealer.  There are more than 60 retailers across the Southland participating in this Program. Dealers will reduce the purchase and installation price at time of sale.
