SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION
Mission Statement

The City of Commerce Social Services Division staff is trained to listen to your needs and refer you to local, state, and other agencies best qualified to assist you. Social Services staff may also communicate with these agencies on your behalf to explain special circumstances.

There are several programs, which are provided to Commerce residents at no cost.

• Food Distribution for Low Income Residents/Seniors

• MTA Bus Pass Subsidy
• Independent Studies (M.U.S.D.)
• Gang Alternative and Prevention Program (GAPP)

Christmas Food Distribution (Apply in October)
Low Income Tax Preparation (Appts. In February)
Ambulance Reimbursement Program (year round)
Emergency Taxi Vouchers & Bus Tokens (year round)
Bike Safety Fair (June)
Community Task Force (2nd Wednesday of each month, 4-5 p.m.)

Please note that the City of Commerce Community Services Department does not offer court ordered community service hours.
