Large Item Pick-up
Large items collections are made by request, To request a pick up, residents must call for service at least 24 hours in advance of their collection day. All items must be placed at the resident's curb by 6:00 a.m. on collection day.

Examples of large items:
  • Household Appliances (refrigerators, doors must be removed or taped shut, washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, etc.)
  • Household Furniture (couches/sofas, chairs, dressers, bed frames, kitchen tables, etc.)
  • Water Heaters (salt and water must be emptied out)
Miscellaneous Items
Items listed below must be cut into lengths shorter than 4 feet, and bundled with twine or string. Each bundle must not weigh more than 50 pounds.
  • Wood
  • Branches
  • Carpet
  • Mini Blinds
Items Not Eligible For Bulky Item Pick Up

Items listed below will not be picked up:
  • Construction Material (Concrete, Asphalt, Bricks, Dirt, etc.)
  • Animals (please contact Animal Control at (323) 887-4460 x 2236)
  • Computers, televisions (Call 800/98TOXIC and 888/CLEANLA)
  • Tires
  • Cars, Truck, Motorcycle, Boat, and Trailer bodies or vehicle parts of any kind
  • Hazardous Waste (motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid, paint, paint thinner, turpentine, cleaning solvents with acid or lye, pesticides or herbicides, household or vehicle batteries, and pool chemicals)

Holiday Collection Schedule
Waste and recycling services will not be provided on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. When a specified holiday falls on a weekday, collections will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week. All other holidays throughout the year will have regularly scheduled service.

Christmas Tree Recycling
Christmas trees are collected the first full week in January. Please remove all decorations along with the stand, and place your tree at the curbside on your regular collection day. Flocked trees will be handled as waste and handled with the trash collection. If you place your tree out for collection during any other week, then you must follow the regular waste disposal requirements, i.e. not longer than 4 feet.
