Request For Proposals for Public Works Inspection and Materials Testing Services FOR
Safe Route to School Various Locations SR2SL-5362(013)
AND
Bus Shelter Installation Project Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5307 and Transportation Development Act (TDA) Program Funded Project
The City of Commerce is soliciting Proposals (hereinafter referred to as RFP) from qualified firms to provide Public Works Inspection Services and/or Geotechnical and Materials Testing Services in connection with Safe Route To School Various Locations SR2SL-5362(013) and Bus Shelter Installation Project (FTA-funded project). A firm may submit a proposal for one or both projects; and/or for one or both services.
Safe Route to School Project
The City has awarded a contract for the Safe Route to School Program for $436,604 for construction services. Per the specifications, the construction duration of the project is 40 working days. This is a state funded project. The project will be administered in accordance with SR2S Program Guidelines (LLP 02-001 effective March 11, 2002). The project shall meet all relevant State laws and requirements including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and constructed in accordance with the Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) and the City’s Quality Assurance Program (QAP).
Bus Shelter Installation Project
The City as also awarded a contract for the Bus Shelter Installation Project for $333,255 for construction services. Per the specifications, the construction duration of the project is 45 working days. This is a federal funded project. The City has obtained grant funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Transit Development Act (TDA) Program funds. Accordingly, all such work, services, and materials for this Project are subject to any grant agreements providing funds for this Project. This includes all applicable terms and provisions of the various Federal, State, and Local agreements connected with such grant funding and all such terms and provisions are incorporated herein by reference. Three (3) copies of the Proposal shall be presented in a sealed envelope bearing the name, address and telephone number of the individual or entity submitting the proposal and shall be addressed to CITY OF COMMERCE, ATTENTION CITY CLERK’S OFFICE, 2535 COMMERCE WAY, COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA 90040. The envelope shall be clearly marked with the notation “DO NOT OPEN – PROPOSAL.” Proposal fee or bid shall be submitted in a separate and sealed-envelope. Proposal shall be delivered to the addressee on or before 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 3, 2012. Late proposals will not be accepted.

QUESTIONS – All questions regarding this RFP shall be directed in writing to Mike Halsey, Project Manager (Consultant) with a copy to Danilo Batson, Assistant Director of Public Services at above mentioned e-mail addresses.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any irregularity, and to take all proposals under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days.
