Coyote Warning

A coyote attacked a small animal in the Village area today. This is the second attack on a small animal to occur in the City. As a reminder, please do not feed coyotes and do not leave pet food or other food sources (pets, trash, etc.) outside, especially between sunset and sunrise. Small animals are especially at risk and should not be left outdoors. If approached by a coyote, shout, wave, throw objects and otherwise try to frighten it away. The City will continue to trap and remove coyotes in the area. However, after this recent attack, the City will step up its efforts to resolve the problem. Please report coyote sightings to the Animal Control Division at (323) 887-4460, ext. 2236. For emergencies, call 9-1-1.
